ARCHITECT@WORK Lausanne 2026: a successful edition under the banner of transformation
On 30 September and 1 October, ARCHITECT@WORK Lausanne welcomed more than 2,000 architecture, interior design and construction professionals from across French-speaking Switzerland for its second edition. With 136 selected exhibitors, the event showcased a wide range of product and material innovations.
Held under the theme "Transformation: reinventing the existing", this edition explored an approach that has become essential in the face of today's environmental and economic challenges: enhancing, adapting and transforming what already exists. Seminars, photography exhibitions and technical displays fuelled the discussion on new ways of designing and building.
Over two days, Beaulieu Lausanne was a true hub for meetings, exchanges and the sharing of ideas. This second edition once again confirms the relevance of the ARCHITECT@WORK concept, which continues to meet the expectations of construction specifiers in French-speaking Switzerland.
Theme 2026: TRANSFORMATION, REIMAGINING THE EXISTING
In the face of today’s environmental, economic and societal challenges, architecture is being called upon to fundamentally reinvent itself. The theme of the second edition of ARCHITECT@WORK Lausanne, “TRANSFORMATION, Reinventing the Existing”, highlighted an essential approach: enhancing, adapting and transforming what already exists. Rather than systematically building new structures, the focus was on exploring the potential of existing buildings, extending their life cycle and giving them new purposes.
Renovation, restructuring and repurposing are all creative approaches that encourage architects and specifiers to rethink the way they design. This theme paves the way for innovative, sustainable and responsible solutions, where constraints become opportunities and every transformation tells a new story.
ARCHITECT@WORK Lausanne therefore offered both an inspiring and practical reflection on the many ways of reinventing the existing, at the heart of today’s challenges.
